1963-1966: BS, Radiopolytechnic College, Leningrad, Russia; 1967-1973: MSc, State University, Lviv, Ukraine; 1994: PhD, Institute of Physics and Mechanics of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Dissertation area: theoretical study of active electromagnetic (EM) sounding system in stratified lossy media. Cert.: theoretical physics, radioengineering.

Career / Employment (employers, positions and dates)

1965-1966: technician, Institute of Physics and Technics of Academy of Sciences of USSR, Leningrad, Russia.

1966-1975: radioengineer, research scientist, Institute of Medical Electronics, Lviv, Ukraine. Scientific work area: theoretical and experimental studies of bioelectric activity of human body (brain and muscles).

1976-1997: research scientist, Institute of Physics and Mechanics of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Lviv, Ukraine. Scientific work area: marine EM sounding (theory and development of active EM systems), theoretical and experimental investigations of very low frequency EM waves of different origins (antennas, interference, ionospheric currents) in variety media (air, sea water, ground, space plasma).

1997-till now, Senior Research Fellow, LC ISR.
Scientific work area: 1) development of theory and methods for detection and location of ultralow frequency EM sources, particularly for study of pre earthquake lithospheric EM activity; 2) development of theory of active EM sounding for natural hazards prediction (a) for study of the Earth’s crust conductivity changes (for earthquakes and volcanic eruptions forecast), (b) for study the solar wind – magnetosphere interactions (for space weather forecast); 3) development of theory and methods of electric and magnetic measurements in variety media (space plasma, Earth, sea water etc.); 4) theoretical study of current density measurements in space plasma; 5) detection of subsurface objects by portable active EM sounding systems.
